Our Story

Our Circle started in 2018 in Chicago,Illinois when our Founder, Fariha Rub, experienced the loss of baby Jannah which led to her leaning on her community for support. She soon realized many American Muslims desire a sense of belonging, fellowship, and positive spaces to grow their spirituality, particularly young Muslim parents. As they found themselves disconnected from their spirituality and community, experiencing declining mental & spiritual health, our Circle brought everyone together. What began as a scholar-led halaqa group while providing childcare and organizing social events became an inclusive and thriving community.

We have brought in scholars & speakers such as

In the span of 4 years, Jannah Circle has grown to over 1000 dedicated members locally and over 8000 globally.

Our group has run successful community charity drives and raised over six figures to benefit low-income, single mothers, and orphan families.

To accommodate Jannah Circle’s growing spiritual needs, we brought in a resident scholar, Alima Sakina Syeda, who has helped hand-in-hand to grow this organization alongside Fariha. She teaches several classes including hadith, tafsir, tazkiyah, and fiqh.

In 2022, Jannah Circle expanded its offerings to cater to children with "Mighty Little Muslims". Mighty Little Muslims is an all-year weekend program which provides Islamic education & socialization to children ages 2-12 years old.

Guess what’s new at Jannah Circle?

We've just snagged a cool community center in Naperville, IL, and we're cooking up some amazing stuff! From playful weekday mornings with young moms and their tots to after-school adventures in creativity and teamwork, and even family-fun Saturdays – we've got it all at our brand new center.

Support from people like you allows our humble community to get one step closer to realizing this dream for ourselves, our children, and the American Muslim establishment as whole. Our dream includes growth as a world community organization.

Jannah Circle is as deeply personal and as equally precious as my own family. It was seeded in the support, kindness, and sisterhood I found in my community and nurtured by the faith we all shared. In the face of our similar struggles, we cultivated a resilient, compassionate, and hopeful community. A community that has outgrown our personal homes (my home!) and now stretches around the globe.

We are men and women, children and youth, young and old. We are parents, students, professionals, entrepreneurs, workers, teachers, advocates, volunteers, but most of all, we are companions together on this path Allah has set us on.

We seek to benefit and support each other as we strive to please our Lord with Ihsan. As an individual, this is a lifelong journey, but as an organization these are definitive goals we are racing towards and the clock is counting down. Just like any team, we are better with the support, collaboration, and cheers of those around us!
